Doth He not know what is best for us, & what conduceth (conducts) most unto His own glory? So is it to live in the exercise of faith that if God calls us unto any of those things which are peculiarly dreadful unto our natures, He will give us such supplies of spiritual strength & patience as shall enable us to undergo them, if not with ease & joy, yet with peace & quietness beyond our expectation.

Your righteousness reaches to the skies, O God, You who have done great things. Who, O God, is like You? Though You have made me see troubles, many & bitter, You will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth You will again bring me up. You will increase my honor & comfort me once again. Psalm 71:19-21

He knows when we are spiritually ready to receive the blessing to our profit & His glory. Waiting in the sunshine of His love is what will ripen the soul for His blessing. Waiting under the cloud of trial, that breaks in showers of blessings, is as needful. Be assured that if God waits longer than you could wish, it is only to make the blessing doubly precious. God waited 4000 years, till the fullness of time, ere He sent His Son. Our times are in His hands; He will avenge His elect speedily; He will make haste for our help, & not delay one hour too long.
